COVID-19 and your holiday
The Coronavirus has, without a doubt, affected the travel industry and the travel possibilities for everyone around the world. Even though several countries have opened their boarders for tourists, the situation is everchanging and governments are frequently updating their restrictions and advice. With these new restrictions and advice, there will naturally be a large number of questions. We will do our best to guide you and answer your questions.
What to do if you have purchased a package tour through Seatravel
We are currently looking closely at the situation and follow the governmental restrictions. Additionally, we act on the governmental travel advice regarding the different destinations, which are updated when needed. We also look at the guidance from the Danish Travel Agency Fund and the Danish Package Tour Law in connection to the pandemic. To find more information on what you can do in connection with your package tour, read the points below:
If the government advise against travelling to your holiday destination when your travel is coming upIf you have purchased a package tour to a destination in which your government suddenly advise against going, you will receive a full refund of the package tour price. This is valid regardless whether the government at the destination has opened their boarders at the time of departure. This is also valid if your destination has entry restrictions or quarantine conditions for your nationality at the time of your holiday. If this is the case, you will receive a full refund for your package tour. Here at Seatravel, it is important to us that we make a refund to all our customers as soon as possible after their holiday has been cancelled as a consequence of the pandemic. All customers have, therefore, received a full refund within 14 days after the holiday should have been carried out. You can also receive a voucher with the package tour amount, which can be used on a future holiday with Seatravel.
If your government advise against travelling to your holiday destination at the time of the purchaseYou can, without any concern, purchase a holiday to a country that your government advise against travelling to at the time of purchase. The travel restrictions may change, so we won’t know what the situation is like at the time of departure. Furthermore, it is not impossible that a country that is advised against travelling to now, may be open for tourists in a few months. If your government advise against travelling to your destination at the time of departure, you will receive a full refund – even though you purchased the package tour at a time when the destination was advised against travelling to. You will receive the full refund of the package tour price no later than 14 days after your holiday should have been carried out.
If your package tour cannot be carried outIf your package tour, or a large part of it, cannot be carried out, we have the rights to cancel it. This might happen if the government advise against all non-essential travels to your destination; if the transportation to the holiday cannot be carried out (e.g. cancellation of flights); if arrangements with our partners/suppliers need to be changed; or other factors. In the case of having to cancel your holiday, we will contact you right away, and you will receive a full refund of the amount you have paid for the package.
Rebooking or voucher? If your package tour is cancelled as a result of governmental advice in your country or the destination, you can choose to either receive a refund of the package tours's pirce or receive a voucher of the amount of the package tour. If you would prefer to rebook your package tour to a new date or destination, we will look into the options for you. However, as this requires us to look into the possibilities with our partners and suppliers, we cannot guarantee a rebooking. We will, of course, do our best to help you.
Cancellation proceduresIf you wish to cancel a holiday to a destination in which your government does not advise against travelling to, our regular terms and conditions will apply.
Terms of paymentEven though this is a strange time for all of us, our payment terms have not changed. The dates for your payment are present in your order. If you miss a payment, it will be considered a violation of the agreement. This means that we have the right to cancel your order, and your deposit will be wasted. If you wish to cancel your holiday, our regular cancellation procedures are the valid ones. If you pay the rest of the amount, the agreement is fulfilled, and you have the right to receive a full refund of the price of your package tour if your holiday is cancelled due to governmental restrictions and travel advice. Therefore, we advise you to pay the full amount, as this will secure you in the best possible manner.
RefundWe will refund the amount of the package tour within 14 days after the trip has been cancelled.Products that are consumed/started such as premium for cancellation insurance or travel insurance are non-refundable.The same applies to services purchased by the customer in connection with the package tour, bypassing the travel agency, such as parking at the airport, car rental, train tickets, entrances, excursions etc.
If there are any changes to your booking, you will be informed as soon as possible!

4 tips for preserving your favourite destination
4 tips for preserving your favourite destination
No matter where in the world you prefer to sail and you keep going back to, you would no doubt be sad if it was suddenly overflowing with plastic waste or if the corals were dead due to bleaching.
Here are 4 simple things you can do to help preserve your favourite destination and to keep it in its best condition.
1: Pick up plastic and other waste
You would probably prefer if plastic and other waste isn’t scattered all over the place when you go ashore on the beautiful beaches. Therefore, we suggest that you bring a bag to collect rubbish, when you head ashore. Beside taking your own waste with you, you can also help by removing what might drift in from the sea.
If you’re travelling with kids, you can turn it into a game for them. Either they can compete for a set period of time to see who can collect the most. Or you could make it a competition for who is the quickest to collect 5 pieces of plastic, 5 pieces of metal, et cetera.
2: Remember to check your sunscreen
I 2015 scientist estimated that every year, between 6,000 and 14,000 tonnes of sunscreen are washed into the ocean. That’s a lot. Many sunscreens contain harmful substances that affect the marine wildlife.
At tropical destinations these substances are especially harmful for the coral reefs. The corals bleach and die, which in turn is bad for a lot of tropical fish species.
Of course, we recommend that you protect your skin from the sun. But keeping in mind the ocean environment, it is also important that you carefully read the product label on your sunscreen to make sure it doesn’t contain any of these harmful substances.
3: Keep your engine no higher than 1800-1900 rpm
Why go at full speed if the wind doesn’t materialise? You're on vacation after all.
You might be able to gain 1 knot of speed by going full throttle, but this will double your fuel consumption to the detriment of both nature and your wallet.
4: Buy local groceries
You can also help the environment by going to a local market when shopping for your boating holiday. Here the groceries will not have been transported over large distances, so they will not have contributed much in terms of emissions of greenhouse gases.
At the same time, the local markets are often a wonderful experience where your senses are bombarded with exotic smells, colourful stands and deliciously tasty produce.

Start the holiday planning now!
Start the holiday planning now!
Book early – why now?
Are you waiting for the last minute, too? What if the price falls?
It may be tempting to watch the clock for fear of missing a good last-minute offer. If you book early, you have more boats to choose from – but if you wait, the boat may be gone.
The best price
The best possible holiday for the best price – that's what we all want! It is our experience that you get the cheapest boat holiday if you book your holiday as early as possible and utilize the book-early offers.
We cannot deny that last-minute discounts are offered if a boat has not been rented out 1-1½ months before the rental period starts.
It may look enticing if you compare and see that there are some big last-minute offers.
However – the boats which are not rented out 1-1½ month before departure are often those which have been too expensive from the beginning.
If a boat operator introduces 20-25% last-minute discount shortly before departure, but the price of the boat from the start has been priced 40-50% higher compared to similar boats, it means that the saving will be minimal, if any at all.
Widest selection of boats first in the booking season
Those who book first will choose the boats with the best value for money; the biggest boat, the newest boat, the best location, the best travel period. They get the largest selection, while those who wait, must choose among the boats that are left. Therefore, do not get tempted to wait for big discounts later in the season – you are always best placed if you book as early as possible.
We usually say that choosing the best rental boat for the money is like when you are in the supermarket and choose fruit and vegetables: "When you come first, you can choose freely. You have the time to choose the best – but if you wait, you can only choose among the ones left behind. As the last ones arrived in the store you cannot see what has previously been offered to others, and what has already been sold".
Cheap Flights
If you require a flight to the destination, then the book-early effect is often even bigger. It is our experience that the price of airline tickets also increases significantly, the closer you get to the departure date.
These three effects are reinforcing each other, and the conclusion is that you have the best advantage if you book your boat holidays as early as possible.
