Brecon Beacon National Park

Sailing on the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal you’ll pass through the eastern part of the Welsh national park of Brecon Beacon. Here you’ll no doubt be mesmerized by the magnificent nature with green clad mountains and hills, thundering waterfalls and deep limestone caves. If you are a lover of nature, then a boating holiday here is the perfect choice for you. No matter where you moor your boat along the canal you can just put on your hiking shoes and take a stroll. Or you can try some of the other activities such as mountain biking or angling. When the darkness falls you can enjoy the incredibly clear night sky as you are miles away from the light pollution of the large cities. Lean back and let the stars wink at you.

Crickhowell

The small village of Crickhowell in Southern Wales is an incredibly nice place to moor your boat during your boating holiday. Here you can walk through the main street High Street, which has been mentioned among Britain’s best of its kind. The city also invites to a nice walk with view of both the river Usk and the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal. A beautiful stone bridge from the 17th century crosses the river Usk in Crickhowell. This bridge is quite special because of the curious fact that on one side you’ll see 12 stone arches, but on the other there is 13. Crickhowell is located on the southern edge of Black Mountains and the eastern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. This means you’ll find a fantastic nature for hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing and much more.
