Yacht Charters in Phuket

A yacht charter in Phuket takes place in a stunning and exotic part of the world - with breathtaking scenery and easy passages - which makes sailing here a very wonderful experience. Secluded coves, surrounded by majestic limestone cliffs and pristine white sandy beaches are found everywhere - and a little off the coast - you can dive into a multitude of vibrant coral reefs.

Sailing in Phuket

The waters off Phuket's east coast are protected by the Andaman Sea, which ensures formidable and safe sailing all the year-round. Based on the monsoons, there is a wet-and dry-season, which affect the weather and wind direction. On Thailand's west coast, the north-eastern monsoon begins in November and leads to light or moderate winds between 10-20 knots as well as cooler temperatures and drier conditions. In May, starts the south-west monsoon and south-westerly winds increase in strength to more than 20 knots when the rainy season peaks in September /October. During the remaining months of the rainy season, it rains only a few hours in the afternoon.

The Daily temperature is around 32 °C from July to February and 16 °C at night. From March to June the weather is warmer. The tidal range can be more than 8 feet, creating strong tidal currents in narrow channels. Navigation is often straightforward and is done by eye; however, it is important to keep a close eye on the chart and GPS because of the many coral reefs. A sailing holiday in Phuket is suitable for sailors with basic skills in coastal navigation.

Highlights

Marine Parks serve as nature reserves to protect the tropical birds and the abundance of marine life - to explore these waters is a journey into an unspoiled paradise. It is also an important part of a sailing holiday to enjoy the local culture and food. Snorkelling or diving in the blue waters is also an experience you shouldn’t miss out on. If you are interested in a lively nightlife, there is also ample opportunity to enjoy the dance clubs and bars in Phuket.
